Hiring Process

What to Expect When You Apply

Our hiring process is designed to help both sides make a thoughtful decision. We want to understand your experience, strengths, work style, and potential fit for the role. We also want you to understand the position, the team, and what success would look like.

Hiring Process Timeline

A Thoughtful Process

The exact process may vary by position, but most candidates can expect several of the steps below. Some roles may move quickly. Others may include multiple interviews or job-related assessments.

When additional steps are needed, they are intended to help us make a careful, fair decision and give candidates a meaningful opportunity to show how they think, communicate, and work.

  1. 1

    Apply

Submit your application for a specific open position. Include your resume or other requested information so we can understand your background, experience, and interest in the role.

  2. 2

    Application Review

Our team reviews applications against the basic qualifications and needs of the position. We consider relevant experience, job-specific skills, work history, and other information that may indicate a potential fit.

  3. 3

    Initial Screening

Qualified candidates may be contacted for an initial screening conversation. This is typically a shorter discussion about your background, interest in the position, availability, work expectations, and general role fit.

  4. 4

    Interviews

Many roles involve more than one interview. Depending on the position, you may meet with Human Resources, the hiring manager, potential supervisors, or team members who understand the work involved.

Interviews help us learn about your experience, communication style, problem-solving approach, and how your strengths may fit the position.

  5. 5

    Assessments or Work Samples

Some positions may include an assessment, exercise, or work sample. These are used when they help us better understand a candidate's knowledge, skills, or ability to perform important parts of the job.

Examples may include role-related knowledge checks, practical exercises, writing samples, math or problem-solving tasks, or other job-specific evaluations. Not every role requires an assessment.

  6. 6

    Selection and Offer

After interviews and any applicable assessments are complete, our team reviews the information collected during the process and determines which candidate best fits the position.

If selected, you may receive a verbal offer followed by a written offer. Employment offers may be contingent on required pre-employment steps, which can include background checks, drug screening, employment eligibility verification, or other requirements depending on the role.

Why Some Roles Include Multiple Steps

We know interviews, assessments, and follow-up conversations take time. We do not want the process to feel complicated for its own sake.

Some positions affect customers, coworkers, safety, inventory, financial processes, or leadership responsibilities in significant ways. For those roles, a more detailed process helps us understand the candidate's strengths and gives the candidate a clearer view of the work.

The goal is a good match, not just a fast decision.

How to Prepare

Before an interview, review the job posting and think about examples from your work history that show how you solve problems, learn new tasks, handle responsibility, communicate with others, and follow through.

You do not need to have a perfect answer to every question. We are interested in how you think, how you approach work, and how your experience may connect to the role.

Fair Consideration

WV Supply is committed to equal opportunity in recruitment, selection, and employment. We aim to evaluate candidates fairly, consistently, and without unlawful discrimination.
